Simple, quick, natural and delicious cranberry sauce made with freshly squeezed orange juice, pure maple syrup, amaretto and fresh cranberries!
If you’re like me, you gasp when you see what store bought sauces are made from and I try to make every effort possible to make things at home to avoid processed ingredients and added sugar.
This sauce would be perfect at Thanksgiving or for any Fall dish!
Imagine it spread on left over turkey sandwiches or even a grilled cheese with Apples & Brie!
This recipe in all should only take about 15 minutes and it’s super simple!
Ingredients:
- 1 bag (or 1 lb) fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- Zest from 1 Orange
- 1 tbsp of Amaretto (or you can sup in whiskey, bourbon or leave this out completely)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch of salt
Directions:
Add all ingredients to a pot. When it starts to simmer, cover and reduce too low. In about 10 minutes check things out and give it a stir. The cranberries will start to pop and melt into a beautiful sauce! If you want to be fancy you can garnish with some orange zest! You can make this a few days in advance too to save time!
