Healthy Protein/Lactation Brownies

I’m not claiming these work for milk supply – but I’m hoping! If they don’t – they are still super clean, yummy and good for you… especially when you compare them to things you’d find at the grocery store.

I’ve read so much conflicting stuff on what “boosts milk supply” – aside from staying hydrated, I’ve seen things like Almonds, Oats, Flax and healthy fats like Coconut Oil being good options – but who knows right? There’s candidly no way to prove that anything works. I’m sure if you believe something will help your supply it will – since so much of this Pregnancy/Mom stuff is tied to emotions, you know?

But let’s get down to these incredible brownies!

Ingredients:IMG_5806

  • 1/2 Cup Your favorite nut butter (I used Almond)
  • 2/3 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 2/3 Cup Protein Powder**
  • 1/4 Cup Honey
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Flax Meal

Optional Topping:

  • 1/4 Cup Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • Sprinkle Course Sea Salt

Directions:

Add the wet ingredients to a sauce pan and warm on low heat so everything liquifies and blends easily. Incorporate everything else and blend together.

Using a spatula – spread out in a pan over parchment paper. If you are adding that extra indulgence of the chocolate topping, melt the coconut oil and chocolate together and spread over top. Sprinkle with sea salt and stick in the refrigerator.

Once they firm up and get nice and cold you can cut them up however big you want them and either store them in a container or individually wrap them in plastic!
