A recent visit over the weekend has me obsessed with this gem all over again!
Harvest is tucked away on Main Street in Farmingdale and offers both lunch and dinner. It’s quaint, intimate, cozy and down to earth with the focus of serving up wholesome food from local farmers, bakers and purveyors.
It’s BYOB and there is a liquor store steps away!
If you plan on coming for dinner, I highly recommend making a reservation and I do think when you come matters. The food is so good and fresh that certain specials and menu items do run out as the nights and weekend days pass, so keep that mind!
I’ve been coming here for awhile now and the staff is always wonderful. Carolyn was our waitress yesterday – she knew that menu like the back of her hand, was super warm/friendly and managed to squeeze us in before the dinner rush since we didn’t have a reservation! (PS – make a reservation)
I also need to commend the kitchen for always being accommodating as well! They have this incredible Cioppino (that is honestly the best Cioppino that I’ve had), and they’ve always been able to take the crab/shrimp out for me since it’s made-to-order. That’s HUGE!
Sure, there food is well prepared, plated beautifully and executed well – but they are super creative with their menu selections and specials!
We had this appetizer yesterday (and I forget the specific details), but it was shredded duck on top of a crispy crostini with a cotton candy grape compote, which was flavored with rosemary and wildflower honey – whaaaatttt!?! It was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever had! This dish honestly had it all, and I would RUN to see if you can get it while it’s still on the menu!
You can’t go wrong with anything that you order, but I do frequent the Duck and Scallop options often!
I will say this though – get dessert, it’s totally worth it! The Apple Napoleon and Ice Cream Sundae with Bacon are two of our favorites and are well worth the indulgence!
Hope you enjoy! I’d love to hear about your experience when you go!
