My Current Skin Care Routine

I have been getting so many questions about my skin lately, so I wanted to share all of the things that I use and do! Some of these things I have been using for years and others are brand new!

Skin care was never really my thing, and I never really saw the necessity in investing in products or making an effort in taking care of it. Now that I’m in my mid-30s, I sing a different tune!

After seeing wrinkles pop up on my forehead, especially the ones that come from thinking “wtf” so much (thanks Nursing) – I have to give my skin extra TLC now.

(If I just confused you, think “wtf/huh” in your head as you look in the mirror – those lines stick haha)/

I’m always open to trying new things, but I usually come back to the same products.

If you’re curious my skin is essentially combination. I have an intermittently oily t-zone, but other than that – my skin is pretty benign. I get the occasional hormonal flair up – but that’s about it.

I saw that Sephora is having a sale, so if you are a VIB or ROUGE member, now might be a good time to restock and get some fun new things to try.

  • ROUGE Members get 20% off between August 19th – August 27th
  • VIB Members get 15% off August 20th – August 27th

There’s one product that I have to mention before I go into the others, and it’s FREE! It’s called water and it’s available everywhere haha. In all seriousness though – it’s the most underused skin product out there and we all need more of it. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body and it’s often neglected!

The next FREE tip is to wash your face before you go to bed so your skin can breathe!

In addition to being hydrated and eating a balanced diet, I incorporated adding Collagen to my shakes daily. I started this routine mid-July and it seems as though it’s working because so many of you have been asking. This is the ONLY NEW thing I have added into my routine, and I’m sticking to it!. I linked the Collagen, I use above, but if you’ve ever been interested in joining one of my online health/fitness groups, I can get you 25% off, otherwise – it’s linked here to sample!

In terms of face wash, I’ve been using Farmacy Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser. It’s gentle on my combo skin and it smells great! No complaints and I enjoy using it. Another favorite of mine is the Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser.

My one ride or die product of almost a decade is the Origins Well Off Make Up Remover! For whatever reason, I don’t care for wipes. I feel like they never get my makeup off good enough. I use a cotton ball to soak up this stuff and it literally takes it right off without any issue or irritation! I swear by it!

Before I go on, I have to warn you about Drunk Elephant Products. They are pricey. Do you need any of these products? Of course not. I personally enjoy them and between the name and how they work – they make me happy, which is all that matters.

Once I wash my face in the morning I use Drunk Elephant C-Firma Serum and this is one of those products that I notice a difference, when I don’t use it.

During the day or when my skin feels moisturized, I use the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra, and when I feel dry, I use the Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer.

I have two other secret weapons that I use occasionally, but they are in my arsenal regularly during the colder months. The two that go hand in hand are the Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum and the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. The Glycolic Serum supposedly lifts away dead skin cells, where the Marula Serum replenishes your skin and “reduces the signs of aging”. I use them both at the same time and my face always feels amazing the next day. It’s not overly oily, greasy etc – which makes no sense because it is literally an OIL – but it’s good! The good thing about each of these products, is that a little goes a long way, so they both last a while. I purchased both of these in the Fall last year and still have plenty of both!

So why Drunk Elephant? And why this price tag? If I’m being completely honest, a blogger that I followed was using the products and I was on the hunt for new ones. The name sounded cool, so I got a sample set to see if it was worth the hype. The sample set is called, The Littles and its a great budget option. In all serious though, it’s a great brand and they take pride in their ingredients, which is exactly what I want when it comes to my face.
